Halloween and Other Fall Stuff 2015

Wow, so I've been super slacking on the blog.  There've been many posts that I've wanted to write, and maybe one day I'll get around to them.  Here's a super-belated Halloween post that I'm finally getting around to only because I know I'm going to want to look back on it later!

So Justin was hoping to be able to use his creative skills to make another killer costume for the kids.  I was hoping the kids would continue their streak of being a food item.
2011: Cupcake; 2012: Donut & Tootsie Roll; 2013: Pumpkins, 2014: Homemade Pizzas

Unfortunately for us, the kids wanted to go "commercial" and so we had ourselves a store-bought Elsa and Ninja Turtle this year.

As always, Halloween lasted more than just October 31st.  This year, we had ourselves an entire week of fun festivities.

On Sunday, while the boys were home mopey and sick, Lissie and I enjoyed a fun Girl's Night at Boo at the Zoo.  We had never been before, and we both had a blast checking out the trick-or-treat trail, hayride, games, dance party, glow golf, and other neat Halloween-y activities that the zoo had to offer.

Thursday, the kids had their school parties and trick-or-treating around the church offices.  Thursday night was costume night at Lissie's dance class.

Spider snacks for Lissie's class party - yum!

On Friday, we went to a costumed playdate and to a Trunk of Treat at our church.

Finally, Halloween!  We started the day at a Fall Festival at the Brentwood Y.  Unfortunately, X woke up from his nap with a 101 temperature, so we left him behind while Lissie and I went to our friend's annual Halloween party and trick-or-treating.

Justin met us at the party after work and "dressed up" as a pharmacist.
Here he is trying to advise Snow White from eating the poisoned apple.
We got a decent-sized stash of candy from all of our events.  We'll devour some of them and add the rest to our "blessings bags" that we are working on to give the homeless this Thanksgiving/holiday season.

Oh, and while I'm blogging, here are some pics of another fall-y things we've done: our trip to the super fun Honeysuckle Farms!  It was our first venture to this pumpkin patch, but it definitely won't be our last.  Worth the trip, for sure!

This pic always makes me giggle.

Some cute pumpkins in a pumpkin patch!
I think I picked the best one!
