Dear Xavier - Age 5

Spent all day long at the beach in Sandestin for your birthday.
Dear Xavier,

Five.  This one's gonna be a big year for you as you begin big kid school in August.  You constantly amaze me with how bright you are and how - even though I don't think you're listening - somehow you manage to remember minute details of events and stories and anything we tell you.

And, you're definitely not my shy child.  You talk all.the.time to anyone who'll listen. You wanted to offer up prayer intentions at a daily Mass the other day, and I'm pretty sure it was partly because you like to hear yourself talk (although it is important to pray for the babies being baptized, you're right).   You're quick to make friends, and you're kind to everyone.  You always love making people laugh, and your jokes are actually pretty entertaining, I must say.

I'm so proud of you for who you are becoming.  It's difficult to believe that five years ago, you were an itty bitty three pound preemie and now you're on the brink of Kindergarten.  God is amazing in all of his goodness, and I'm so blessed that he entrusted me to be your mommy.

Stay awesome always.

I love you,

Love,
Mommy
